Inspired by a poster created for the Chicago World's Fair by Weimer Pursell. The 1933-1934 Century of Progress Exposition was held on Northerly Island on Lake Michigan and was the second World's Fair hosted by the city of Chicago. The first was the World's Columbian Exposition, where the original Ferris Wheel debuted in 1893. Each World's Fair is represented by two of the stars on the Chicago flag.
